The Albanese Government congratulates Ellie Sweeney on her appointment as the Chief Executive Officer of NBN Co by the company’s Board for a five-year term.
Sweeney has more than 20 years of executive experience in the telecommunications sector, including roles as CEO and Chief Operating Officer of Vocus Group, as well as over 10 years at Telstra.
She brings a deep understanding of NBN Co’s mission to provide fast, reliable, affordable, and secure broadband services to Australians, along with expertise in the industry and regulatory environment within which NBN Co operates.
“Ms Sweeney’s appointment comes at an important time for NBN Co, to maximise the benefits of the National Broadband Network for all Australians,” said Minister for Communications, the Hon Michelle Rowland MP.
“The Albanese Government is investing to support NBN Co to deliver network upgrades and improved technology to meet the growing connectivity needs of Australians.”
