In today’s competitive landscape, businesses looking to scale and gain a competitive edge from their competitiors need all the help they can get to recruit good talent. Beyond offering attractive compensation packages, companies who invest in employer branding demonstrate their commitment to creating an inclusive, innovative, and fulfilling workplace.

In this video, Lavinia Rajaram, Asia Pacific Head of Communications for Expedia Group talks about embracing employer branding and culture. As a seasoned communications practitioner of more than 18 years, Rajaram has had ample experience in not just codifying, but transforming culture.

Rajaram’s first advice is to start with crafting your company’s mission statement.

“Start with codifying the mission: your company’s purpose. but don’t stop there, adopt that into the culture of day-to-day engagement and experiences.”

“Your company’s mission has to be short and simple, has to be clear and concise, it has to be something that represents your industry, represents your brand. But most of all it has to be something that employees feel really proud about advocating for,” Rajaram said.
