NSW Treasury appoints former ICA comms chief to newly created role

The NSW Treasury has appointed former Insurance Council of Australia (ICA) head of communications Campbell Fuller as its Executive Director of Communications.

After 10 years with the ICA, Fuller starts the newly-created role at NSW Treasury this month. He will be reporting to Treasury Secretary Mike Pratt and COO Kim Curtain.

Fuller has vast experience as a corporate communications and public affairs strategist, as well as an industry and corporate spokesperson.

As the former ICA Head of Communications and Media Relations, he led a team of up to six communications and public relations professionals who were responsible for all external communications and media relations, crisis and issues management, reputation management, events and campaigns. He also provided extensive advisory services to CEO, Board, executive team and member company executives, according to his LinkedIn page.

Fuller was also the Practice Principal of Porter Novelli Australia for 3 years. In this role, he led project teams across crisis management, B2B communications, professional services, corporate and finance, NFP, property and infrastructure.

His expertise in communications spans a diverse range of industries, notably in the media and political landscapes.

In 2020, Fuller was one of several ICA key executives to leave following a strategic review.
