Canva study finds educators are prepared to embrace AI in the face of burnout

With the end of the school year quickly approaching, a new survey conducted by Canva highlights the immense difficulties encountered by K-12 educators.

The study found that a startling 35% of these instructors deal with burnout daily.

The results, which were announced during Teacher Appreciation Week, highlight how critical it is to provide resources and new ideas to the education sector.

According to Carly Daff, Head of Teams and Education at Canva, “We often hear from our teacher communities about needing to achieve more with less. Teaching stress is complex and can’t be solved with any one tool.”

However, the study reveals that technology, specifically artificial intelligence (AI), could be useful in addressing some of the profession’s pain issues.

According to the study, 92% of teachers who used AI said it helped them deal with work issues.

AI not only increased productivity, but it also played an important part in reducing burnout, with 58% of respondents confirming its favorable influence in this area.

Moreover, AI facilitated greater creativity and visual communication in the classroom, enabling educators to create engaging materials and spark students’ imagination.

Interestingly, there is a growing openness among teachers, particularly among younger generations and those with less experience, towards adopting AI technologies. O

ver half of teachers who haven’t yet tried AI believe it can help reduce burnout, signaling a promising trend in the integration of technology into education.

Canva, known for its visual communication platform, is committed to supporting educators by providing free access to Canva for Education, equipped with over 100,000 education and lesson templates and multiple AI tools.

“We hope that Canva can play a part in allowing teachers to focus on the parts of their job that they’re most passionate about,” Daff emphasises.

In conclusion, while the challenges facing teachers are significant, innovative solutions such as AI offer a glimmer of hope in enhancing teacher well-being and ultimately, enriching the learning experience for students.
