After an extensive six-month recruitment process, the Public Relations Institute of Australia (PRIA) announces the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer, Louise Harland-Cox.

With a high level of interest from an outstanding pool of candidates across Australia, Harland-Cox brings the right mix of strategic vision and commercial expertise to serve the communications industry in this key leadership role.

She has an extensive history within membership organisations and excels in bringing industry professionals together to create value for members. She has more than 20 years experience in both Australia and the UK, across industries such as financial services, charities, medical education and agriculture.

Her unique exposure to a range of industries gives Harland-Cox the right background to identify and address the challenges of PRIA’s members, with direct and relevant experience in the spaces they operate.

These high levels of relevant expertise identified Harland-Cox as the right candidate to take PRIA forward into a new era of growth and driving outcomes for both their industry and their members.

While the needs of Australia’s leading communicators are unique, the challenges they face as a membership organisation are shared across many sectors.

Harland-Cox’s cross-industry membership experience will allow the PRIA to apply learnings and best practice from the wider association community, as they drive a new focus on member engagement, retention and growth.

She brings to the PRIA a strong track record in organisational strategy, service delivery, and the collaborative instincts required to deliver the best outcomes for PRIA’s members. She has successfully implemented value creation strategies across both organisational and personal membership structures and will be looking to implement a data-driven approach to communication and engagement.

Leigh McClusky, National President of the Public Relations Institute of Australia said of Louise’s appointment, “I am confident that Louise’s appointment heralds a new era of member growth and member value for the PRIA”.

“The Public Relations Institute of Australia represents such a wealth of history and experience in the PR and communications field,” said Louise Harland-Cox about her appointment to the role.

“I’m thrilled to be leading the organisation at such a pivotal time for the industry, and look forward to building upon such a rich heritage to create outstanding value for our members”.

PRIA are delighted to have Louise Harland-Cox join them as CEO and help drive successful outcomes for the community, industry and members.
