VoIP provider MaxoTel acquires Zintel, Fonebox in $6.5M deal

VoIP acquisitions

Maxo Telecommunications, a provider of voice over internet protocol (VoIP) and telephony solutions in Australia, has announced its acquisition of Zintel Ltd (NZ) and Fonebox Contact Centre from carrier Aussie Broadband Limited.

Zintel Ltd is a toll-free service provider throughout New Zealand, while Fonebox Contact Centre provides live answer inbound call centre services, based in Brisbane, Australia.

These acquisitions are expected to “further solidify MaxoTel’s position as a major player in the VoIP and telephony space in Australia, with a growing presence in New Zealand.”

A newly forged partnership will allow MaxoTel to leverage Aussie Broadband’s recently acquired Tier 1 voice network for wholesale services.

“After years supporting our multi-national Australian customers with a presence in New Zealand, we are excited to enter the New Zealand market directly and to be able to offer a greater range of VoIP, toll free and inbound call centre services for our customers, here and overseas.” said Michael Blake, General Manager of MaxoTel.

“The acquisition of Zintel Ltd and Fonebox Contact Centre will allow us to expand our service offerings and provide our customers with even more options.”

MaxoTel’s existing customer base can expect to benefit from these acquisitions throughout the integration phase of the two companies. The addition of new features will enhance the customer experience and provide greater value to customers.

MaxoTel has yet to reveal what these new features will be.

The acquisitions are expected to be completed in two stages in March and April.

Founded in 2007, Maxotel offers a wide range of services catering to businesses of all sizes and provides VoIP and telephony services.
