VAST Data and Cisco Unite to Revolutionise AI Infrastructure with NVIDIA Collaboration

At Cisco Live 2024, VAST Data announced their new collaboration with Cisco and NVIDIA. This alliance’s purpose is to provide enterprises with high-performance AI infrastructure, leveraging an Ethernet-based AI fabric to manage data at an exabyte scale.

VAST Data, renowned for its AI data platform, became the first data platform optimised for Cisco Nexus HyperFabric. This unified platform offers storage, database, and data-driven function engine services built specifically for AI. By integrating with Cisco’s cloud-management solution for data centre networking, VAST Data enables Cisco customers to monitor and optimise performance and latency in complex applications.

Cisco Nexus HyperFabric AI clusters, enhanced by NVIDIA accelerated computing, allow enterprises to build robust AI data centres. The solution integrates NVIDIA Tensor Core GPUs, BlueField-3 DPUs, SuperNICs, and NVIDIA AI Enterprise software with Cisco networking and the VAST Data Platform. This provides comprehensive visibility of compute, networking, storage, and data management, facilitating seamless AI operations at scale.

CEO and co-founder of VAST Data Renen Hallak expressed excitement about the collaboration, stating, “This is the year of the enterprise for AI. Traditionally, enterprises have been slower to adopt new technologies because of the difficulty of integrating new systems into existing systems and processes.”

“This collaboration with Cisco and NVIDIA makes it simple for enterprises to implement AI as they move from proof of concept to production,” Hallak added.

“It’s an honour to be selected by Cisco as their premier storage partner for their AI infrastructure, and it’s even more exciting that this is because our customers advocated for this partnership.”

Executive Vice President and General Manager of Cisco Networking Jonathan Davidson highlighted the importance of this collaboration, noting, “Business innovation is accelerating with AI applications, requiring efficient, high-speed access to massive data sets.”

“With an ecosystem approach that now includes VAST Data and NVIDIA, Cisco helps our enterprise customers tackle their most difficult and complex networking, data, and security challenges to build AI infrastructures at any scale with confidence.”

VAST Data and Cisco have also certified Cisco Nexus Ethernet-based switches with the VAST Data Platform. This collaboration ensures seamless deployment and support for joint customers. The Cisco Nexus Dashboard offers innovative congestion management and real-time telemetry, simplifying network management and operations.
