The Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) and Phonographic Performance Company of Australia (PPCA) have announced the appointment of Tessa Kerans as the incoming marketing and communications manager for both organisations.
Reporting to ARIA and PPCA CEO Annabelle Heard, Kerans will assume the new role on Tuesday, July 27, and will be responsible for developing and driving owned, paid and earned media strategy across both organisations.
She will also work alongside ARIA and PPCA’s executive team and commercial partners and assist in organising events such as the ARIA Awards and ARIA Week.
Kerans joins ARIA and PPCA after working with PR and management firm Six Buroughs for five years.
CEO Annabelle Heard said it’s an exciting time at the organisations.
“Tessa’s passion for Australian music and her experience across strategy development, project management, marketing, promotion, publicity and artist PR services make her the perfect fit for the ARIA and PPCA team,” Heard said.
“It’s an exciting time at ARIA and PPCA, with lots of great opportunities to promote the success and value of the Australian music industry and Australian recording artists, and I can’t wait for Tessa to get started.”
Kerans, meanwhile, expressed her own excitement about joining ARIA and PPCA.
“I am incredibly excited to join the team at ARIA and PPCA, particularly now at this moment of change within our industry,” she said. “I am grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such a passionate and dynamic team and be part of organisations as important as ARIA and PPCA.”
ARIA’s senior marketing and communications manager, Danny Yau, departed the organisation in April. Around the same time, the organisation called upon Shoebridge Knowles Media Group (SKMG) to oversee corporate and strategic communications.
