All-in-one visual communication platform Canva has released new suite of design and brand management tools powered by artificial intelligence (AI) to help teams and organisations of all shapes and sizes to communicate visually and produce content at scale.
Canva’s new suite of AI tools include Magic Design, where Canva provides a curated selection of personalised templates after a user uploads an image and selects a style and Magic Edit, a simplified but powerful photo editor where users can simply “tell” the AI what they want to do over a selected area.
Canva also released Magic Write, an AI-powered copywriting assistance that can provide a simple text prompt within seconds.
While Magic Write has been available for a while in limited capacity, it is now available across the entire Visual Worksuite including presentations, videos and websites making it easier than ever to write everything from website copy or presentation summaries.
Canva also unveiled Canva Assistant, an AI-powered visual assistant that lets you search for eye-catching elements, recommendations for images and layouts, or generate custom AI to elevate your designs.
“Ten years ago, we launched Canva driven by a vision to empower everyone to design anything, no matter their skills or experience,” said Canva co-founder and CEO, Melanie Perkins.
“Today, we’re thrilled to advance that vision by introducing a whole new range of features, focused on empowering brands to scale their creative outputs. As technology continues to advance, we are reimagining the design process by making it even easier to take what is in your head, get it onto a page, and out into the world, faster than ever before.”
Helping Brands Do More
In its bid to attract creative and marketing teams tasked with creating high volumes of content with tight deadlines, Canva has also expanded the capabilities of the Visual Worksuite with Brand Hub, a range of new tools and features built to help teams and organizations create with efficiency and stay on brand.
Among the most useful tools that Canva has created for brands are Brand Templates and Brand Controls, two features that make brand-approved content creation faster and more efficient.
Instead of manually referencing colour hex charts and font selections, Brand Controls allow admins to limit fonts and colours in the first place. Meanwhile Brand Templates provide customisable templates that allow teams to quickly create on-brand, compelling content while saving time on repetitive design tasks.
As Canva embarks upon a decade as a powerhouse design platform, the company now touts more than $1.4 billion in annualized revenue and over 125 million monthly users – an increase of more than 40 million since the launch of Canva’s Visual Worksuite in September 2022. These 125 million people have now created a total of more than fifteen billion designs with the platform.
With enterprise and workplace adoption continuing to grow, organizations such as FedEx, Starbucks and Zoom are embracing Canva’s all-in-one design platform to globally scale their visual communication needs.
