Harnessing the power of video for corporate communications with Mo MaCrae

Mo Macrae on using video for corporate communications

“How you show up on video is how you’re seen in the world.”

Audiences have been mesmerised by video ever since the technology’s inception. Video disrupted the previously-print and radio dominated industries of entertainment and advertising industry in the 1950s, and now it disrupts corporate communications as well.

In this video, acclaimed movie and commercial TV director Mo Macrae talks about harnessing the power of video to enhance your corporate communications. Macrae’s workshop is particularly critical in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, which in his words, has acted as an “enormous catalyst” for the video revolution.

“To all of us who even thought that maybe we could resist being in front of the camera — and that includes me, because I loved being behind it, don’t like being in front of it. But COVID has said ‘you’re not allowed to do that anymore,'” Macrae said.

“Whether it’s external communications, whether it’s brand building and positioning, whether it’s messaging offers, delivery, whether it’s customer service or internal comms. Whether it’s just a meeting, whether it’s catching up with friends and family. We have been told we have to be in video now,” he said.

As an accomplished director who’s directed feature films, brand content, and some of Australia’s most loved TV commercials, Macrae is able to impart critical video making skills that will help you achieve your goals and control how you’re seen in the world.
