Microsoft has welcomed Renee Salaberry as its new chief marketing officer in Australia and New Zealand.
Salaberry replaces Pip Arthur, who stepped out of the role in September 2021 into a product management leadership role to head Microsoft’s Modern Workplace Business Group in ANZ.
Salaberry brings deep marketing and industry experience, where she has held various roles in both client-side and agency-side locally, regionally and globally.
Most recently, she was global CMO for Australian infection prevention technology company, Nanosonics, where she oversaw the company’s strategic growth of its proprietary technology.
Prior to Nanosonics, she held other roles including executive VP of worldwide strategy for Leo Burnett based in Chicago, plus senior strategy director roles with Publicis Health and Saatchi & Saatchi Wellness.
“Renee’s deep marketing and industry expertise, combined with her experience working on some of the world’s leading brands during her agency career with Publicis Groupe (Leo Burnett, Saatchi & Saatchi, Publicis Conseil) make her an ideal fit for Microsoft,” Microsoft said in a statement.
On her latest appointment, Salaberry shared in a LinkedIn post that she is excited to have joined the software giant.
“This is more than a career defining moment, it is a life defining moment,” Salaberry said.
“I am driven to leave a positive legacy and contribute to something larger than ‘me’. What better place to lean into this purpose than at Microsoft,” she said.
“My first few weeks have been amazing and I am looking forward to contributing to the ongoing success of the ANZ business and the Microsoft vision of empowering every person and every organisation on the planet to achieve more,” she concluded in the LinkedIn post.
She will report directly to Microsoft ANZ’s Chief Operating Officer Steven Miller and will lead the company’s internal team of experienced marketers as well as its agency partners.
